The Aftermath of War

War within our families.
War within our borders.
War with others distant, way beyond our own land’s shores.

How can one survive such destructiveness among so many, ourselves included?
How can we be peaceful and forgiving with hate about our throats, gurgling and frothing, staining our blouses or shirts?
How can I be a survivor with so much fear or doubt about my worth?
And others too who I am sure want out?
No more crossing over, taking, stealing or rape.
No more surrender to the political world of dope-induced moral decline. – Individuals who sell a soul or two for power or greed and mostly both.
I want now a world I feel proud to partake of and live in.
I know a possibility of total peace is far long gone.
But I do know my own self and that is a start at least, to come a little further along and join with others who also feel the need to make a stand for peace.
The aftermath of a storm of violence in any form is to recover the territory, review and reflect. Reconnoiter one’s thoughts in a civil, respectful and responsibly honest way, – so that life in the future has hope for surviving in a much more supportive, caring and compassionate hue.

The answer has to be one of forgiveness and repeating that war-like view no more.
Else damnation will be the answer to all our needs as war persists and persists to determine our fate to survive no more.
